Counselling, Coaching & Training

My passion for learning more about counselling began in 2006 when I had counselling. I had been suffering from post-natal depression. The ten counselling sessions I had then were life changing. I decided that I would like to train as a Counsellor so that I could help and support others.

In 2011 I qualified as a Counsellor using a Person-Centred approach. At the time of qualifying, I was working as a Distribution Centre Manager. I discovered my counselling skills were invaluable, they enable me to support my team through difficult life events. After I qualified, I continued to volunteer in the evening and at weekends so that I could develop my skills and expand my range of experience.

In 2018 I hung up my Hi Viz jacket and left the world of distribution and I took the plunge to start my own business. I felt ready to make my passion my work.

I provide counselling, coaching and supported therapy sessions. I created a series of Anxiety Workshops 'Retrain Your Brain', these support people to understand anxiety and provide them with the tools and techniques to successfully manage anxiety.

I enjoy designing and delivering bespoke in-house training for mental health awareness, emotional well being and staff development and team building. For the past three years I run a free monthly support group 'Park Your Worries' for helping people with emotional issues from The Coach House in Rhydding Park, Oswaldtwistle.

I successful completed a Level 5 Diploma in CPCAB CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)

In June 2022 after 5 years of study I became a Master Practitioner of NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming).

I work as an integrated therapist. Using Person Centred Counselling Skills , Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Neuro Linguistic Programming to enable the best results possible for each and every client.

People come to counselling for a variety of reasons. I only work with over 18's and enjoy building a therapeutic relationship working with congruence and unconditional positive regard.

have a wealth of experience working with work related stress, anxiety, depression, self-confidence, anger management, bereavement, menopause, redundancy, relationship/family issues, and managing life changes.

Each and every client is different. I love my job and I enjoy seeing people getting the insights and benefits that counselling and coaching brings them.

I qualified in 2011 as a person centred counsellor and over time I realised that to get the best results for my clients, I needed to develop a broader range of skills. I now work using an integrated approach, drawing from Person-Centred Counselling, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Neuro Linguistic Programming.  I try and adapt to your needs and I am flexible in my approach.

"If what your doing isn't working, do something different - do anything different" (Presuppositions NLP)

Counselling gives you the opportunity to talk through what’s really on your mind in a safe, calm and confidential environment.  Counselling offers you the opportunity to work through your thoughts and feelings and explore what these really mean to you. I believe that everyone has the resources to find their own answers and make positive changes to their lives they just need to be given the right environment to do it in.

Sessions usually are once a week and last for one hour. These are your sessions and I work to your agenda and at your speed. Each session gives you an opportunity to off load and work through what is on your mind.

I am trained to listen and not judge, to be respectful and always treat you with dignity. Counselling offers you a safe space to explore, discover your own solutions and create a way forward.

I offer face to face sessions, telephone counselling and sessions via ZOOM.
