MY STORY
Training, Coaching and Counselling Professional
My passion for counselling began in 2006 when I had counselling , after suffering from post natal depression. The ten counselling sessions I had were life changing and I decided then that I would like to train as a Counsellor so that I could help others .
In 2011 I qualified as a Counsellor. At the time I was working as a Distribution Centre Manager. I had been working in a senior management role for the past 20 years and found my counselling skills to be invaluable in helping me support my team through difficult life events. After I qualified I continued to volunteer in the evening, developing my skills and expand my experience. I was fortunate get the opportunity to work with lots of different clients and situations.

Over time I realised that I wanted to move away from managing teams and warehouses and put my skills to better use. In 2018 I hung up my Hi Viz jacket and I took the plunge to start my own business.

I specialise is anxiety management and I would say that 90% of clients struggle with anxiety at some point.

I have loads of experience of working with stress related problems, depression, low self confidence, anger management, bereavement, redundancy, relationship issues, managing life changes etc.

I have over ten years experience in counselling people face to face. Each and every client is different and I work towards achieving client goals at their pace.

I have worked with couples/older family groups to help them to improve their relationships and communication with each other.

I work on behalf of the NHS providing Support Therapy Session. Working with people with long term mental health problems, supporting them out and about in the community.

I run workshops/training programs for mental health well being. l am always looking for opportunities to get people talking together about their mental health and share their experiences.

I take great pride in the progress and success of my clients, its wonderful for me to see the positive changes in people.

A PERSON CENTRED APPROACH
I work using a person-centred counselling approach. I believe that everyone has the resources to find their own answers and make positive changes to their lives.

I believe that counselling gives you the opportunity to talk through what’s really on your mind in a safe, calm and confidential environment. Counselling offers you the opportunity to work through your thoughts and feelings and explore what these really mean to you.
Sessions usually are once a week and last for one hour. These are your sessions and I work to your agenda and at your speed. Each session gives you an opportunity to off load and work through what is on your mind.

I am trained to listen and not judge, to be respectful and always treat you with dignity. Counselling offers you a safe space to explore, discover your own solutions and create a way forward.
