My journey into the world of counselling began in 2006 when I sought help for post-natal depression. Those ten transformative sessions opened my eyes to the profound impact of counselling, igniting a passion in me to become a counsellor myself and support others on their healing journeys.

I qualified as a Counsellor in 2011, adopting a Person-Centred approach. I continued working in my role, managing a Distribution Centre. I quickly realized how my counselling skills enriched my leadership, allowing me to guide my team through personal challenges.
To broaden my skills, I volunteered in the evenings at a local charity, allowing me to work with a diverse group of clients, each with unique reasons for seeking counselling.

In 2018, I decided to leave the distribution industry behind and turn my passion into a full-time venture. I launched my own practice, where I offer counselling, coaching, and supportive therapy sessions. I also developed a series of workshops titled "Retrain Your Brain," designed to empower individuals to understand and manage their anxiety with practical tools and techniques.

I thrive on creating tailored in-house training sessions that enhance mental health awareness, emotional well-being, and team cohesion. Additionally, I've been running free monthly support groups for Carers who are supporting loved ones who have mental illness and recently I founded the Oswaldtwistle Laughter Club both are run from the Coach House in Rhydding Park, Oswaldtwistle.

My commitment to growth led me to complete a Level 5 Diploma in CPCAB CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) in 2021 and to become a Master Practitioner of NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) in June 2022.
In 2024 I completed my EMDR training to further enrich my skill set.
As an integrated therapist, I combine Person-Centred Counselling Skills, CBT, and NLP, tailoring my approach to meet the unique needs of each client. I work with individuals over 18, cultivating therapeutic relationships grounded in authenticity and unconditional positive regard. I am an Accredited BACP Counsellor and I work in accordance to the BACP Ethical Framework.

Most of my clients come to me seeking relief from anxiety, whether it's insomnia, incessant worrying, changes in appetite, or panic attacks. My aim is to help them understand their anxiety and develop effective coping strategies.
​
With extensive experience addressing a wide range of concerns—including health anxiety, stress, depression, confidence issues, anger management, bereavement, menopause, redundancy, and relationship challenges—I am dedicated to guiding each client through their unique journey.

How I Work
I qualified in 2011 as a person centred counsellor and over time I realised that to get the best results for my clients, I needed to develop a broader range of skills. I now work using an integrated approach, drawing from Person-Centred Counselling, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Neuro Linguistic Programming. I try and adapt to your needs and I am flexible in my approach.

Counselling gives you the opportunity to talk through what’s really on your mind in a safe, calm and confidential environment. Counselling offers you the opportunity to work through your thoughts and feelings and explore what these really mean to you. I believe that everyone has the resources to find their own answers and make positive changes to their lives they just need to be given the right environment to do it in.

Sessions can be weekly, bi weekly or monthly. Each counselling session last for one hour. These are your sessions and I work to your agenda and at your speed. Each session gives you an opportunity to off load and work through what is on your mind. I provide face to face counselling, telephone counselling and online counselling session. Please specify when booked what would work best for you.

I am trained to listen and not judge, to be respectful and always treat you with dignity. Counselling offers you a safe space to explore, discover your own solutions and create a way forward.

I now provide EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing. This therapy can be used for the successful treatment of PTSD, anxiety, depression, complex grief, and lots more. I find it works well for most problems. Please ask for availability and price details.
